CUDA Workshop

The University of Alicante attaches great importance to the formation of specialists in the use of GPUs (Graphics Processing Units) to accelerate scientific applications (computer vision, domotic, neural networks, medicine, industry, graphic computation and many other fields) and for that reason offers specifically training courses in this topic.

Fortunately, that training capacity comes under the strong support of the research that specialized groups develop.

The collaboration with the industry sectors in Alicante is our other big challenge as a modern university to aspire to contribute to the society.

This workshop claims to help to advance the spirit of the above comments and aims to become a forum for our scientist, students and professionals through its development and consolidation in future years.

The NVIDIA graphic hardware company has selected the University of Alicante as a CUDA Teaching Center during the academic year 2011/2012 for his commitment demonstrated in the advance of education of NVIDIA CUDA technology

The main goal of this workshop is to initiate students in the programming of GPUs giving a general vision as well as put in pratice this kwoledge. Students will learn to take advantage of CUDA technology. To do this, is proposed to program and execute certain algorithms on the CPU and GPU, after obtained results will be analyzed and compared.

This workshop will be held on December 16, 2011 from 16:00 to 21:00 at the University of Alicante.
